ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS

Sometimes students that have been taking lessons with me for a long time have expressed the need to take a break from lessons. They feel worried about quitting because of going to the back of the waitlist and not being able to rotate back to the top for a very long time.
I have decided to create a separate waitlist for students that have been with me for at least 12+ months that need to take a break. The way it works is I will take a student from the New Client waitlist, then loyalty, then back and forth and so on and so forth. I always reach out and check in with waitlist clients anytime there is significant movement on the waitlist.

I haven’t fully developed this program quite yet because I am still strategizing this and coming up with possible ways to making this work, but what I’m thinking so far: If 2 students are interested in doing part-time lessons at the same time, they would have to agree on the same day and time together, and they could rotate every other week and do a part-time lesson program.
Benefits: low impact homework and practice time. This would be a good fit for a student that shows interest in music, but doesn’t do well with too much of a workload and ends up not enjoying music when that happens.
Possible Concerns: Recital pieces take a lot of work and effort, so we will have to evaluate things as they go and make a decision about 45 days before the recital as to whether or not the song is strong enough for the performance. Also, the overall progress of a part-time student is likely to be slower.
